Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join the Storm Eye Institute in the Department of Ophthalmology. Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent in cell biology, molecular biology or a related biomedical science.
• Expertise in cell culture, flow cytometry and molecular biology and microscopy.
• Hands-on experience with animal handling and experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct experiments on mouse and cell-based models of age-related macular degeneration using flow cytometry, molecular biology, and single-cell analyses.
• Analyze experimental results with appropriate programs and statistics; organize data accordingly.
• Maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, optimize protocols, and train others in experimental methods.
• Prepare manuscripts in collaboration with the PI for peer-reviewed journals; present results at departmental meetings and conferences.
• Other duties as assigned.
