Job summary

Texas Biomed is seeking an exceptional postdoctoral scientist to study genetic variation in pedigreed nonhuman primate populations at the Southwest National Primate Research Center (SNPRC). The role involves genetic analyses, characterization of NHP colonies, and developing breeding strategies to maintain diversity.

Ideal candidates hold a PhD with experience in NGS and population/genomic analyses, and have a strong bioinformatics background with R, Python, or C++ proficiency.

Qualifications

• A doctoral degree with demonstrated experience in NGS data and population genetics.
• Experience with genomic, transcriptomic, or epigenetic data and statistical analyses.
• Strong bioinformatics background; proficiency in R, Python, or C++ is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scientific research under supervision of a senior scientist.
• Participate in seminars and meetings relevant to the field.
• Prepare grant/contract applications and manuscripts.
