The successful candidate will investigate molecular mechanisms influencing gamete competence, embryonic development, and reproductive aging, with translational aims for improving IVF outcomes.

Qualifications

• PhD in a related field as listed.
• Experience with animal models, molecular biology, and mitochondrial biology.
• Experience in micromanipulations (ICSI, biopsies) is highly desired.
• Strong planning, execution, troubleshooting, and interpretation of independent projects.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct independent and collaborative research studies using relevant animal models and human-derived materials, as appropriate.
• Investigate early embryo development, molecular and cellular pathways, mitochondrial function, and mechanisms associated with reproductive aging.
• Perform and optimize advanced laboratory techniques, including embryo micromanipulation and molecular biology assays.

Postdoctoral Scientist – Embryology, Gamete Competence and Reproductive Aging

CCRM Fertility Research invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Scientist position in reproductive biology with a strong focus on embryology, gamete competence, and reproductive aging.

The successful candidate will investigate the molecular mechanisms influencing gamete competence, embryonic development, and overall reproductive success in our aging society. This work will aim to generate translational insights that can support the development of improved strategies to enhance outcomes in human in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct independent and collaborative research studies using relevant animal models and human-derived research materials, as appropriate.
• Investigate early embryo development, molecular and cellular pathways, mitochondrial function, and mechanisms associated with reproductive aging.
• Perform and optimize advanced laboratory techniques, including embryo micromanipulation and molecular biology assays.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office and clinical setting with frequent use of medical instrumentation and equipment, supplies and materials. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, including computer keyboards and mice, telephones, photocopiers, scanners, and filing cabinets.

The duties of this position involves an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids or tissues or a potential for spills and splashes from them. Appropriate protective measures are required for every employee engaged in these tasks.
