Job summary

The Clarke Lab at the University of Miami is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate in Biology to contribute to an interdisciplinary project on cell adhesion proteins and the origin of multicellularity, integrating proteomics, biochemistry, and evo-devo.

The ideal candidate will have a background in biochemistry, cell biology, or evo-devo, experience with computational methods, and a track record of publications; mentoring students is expected.

Qualifications

• Background in biochemistry, cell biology, or evo-devo.
• Experience applying these methods to study cell adhesion or morphogenesis.
• Experience with computational and statistical methods.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in an interdisciplinary, collaborative group.
• Track record of publications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply biochemical and cellular assays to characterize adhesion proteins in non-bilaterian animals.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary project integrating proteomics, biochemistry, and cell biology.
• Mentor students and contribute to a collaborative lab culture.
• Present findings at meetings and pursue career development opportunities.
