The Sharan Lab is hiring an enthusiastic postdoctoral scholar to study host-pathogen interactions in TB/HIV co-infection in our lab. Sharan Lab is interested in understanding the mechanisms by which HIV reactivates a latent TB infection using small and large animal models in BSL3. We use immunology, pathology and single cell RNAseq techniques to perform detailed mechanistic studies. This role will help conduct NHP and mouse experiments to study host-directed therapy in TB/HIV co-infection.
A highly motivated individual with a Doctoral Degree in Immunology or a closely related discipline from an accredited college or university. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of BSL3 and TB-related research, including immunology, flow cytometry and scRNA-seq. The candidate must have first-author papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals. The research role will be highly collaborative. The candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills. The candidate should have ability to handle multiple projects, have exceptional organizational skills and should be a tram player. The candidate should be willing to work in a BSL3 lab space and should be experienced working with animal models.
