The Ohio State University is seeking PhD scientists to join the interdisciplinary laboratory of Dr. Peixuan Guo, working at the interface of biophysics, RNA biology, nanotechnology, molecular biology and therapeutic development. The research programme encompasses RNA–protein interactions, RNA structure and function, RNA nanotechnology, RNA dynamics and motility, RNA therapeutics, nucleic acid chemistry, RNA delivery and computational approaches to protein and RNA structure. The postdoctoral scholar will apply modern technologies to chemically modify RNA nanoparticles or messenger RNA (mRNA) for in vivo imaging and develop approaches for delivering RNA in vivo for disease treatment and cancer prevention. The laboratory aims to train the next generation of scientific leaders and develop research capabilities that can translate advances in RNA nanotechnology into biomedical applications and therapeutics.
Previous experience in optics or imaging involving RNA or proteins is preferred. Relevant experience in RNA nanotechnology, molecular biology, nucleic acid chemistry, RNA therapeutics, RNA delivery, biophysics, imaging or computational structural biology may also be valuable for the research environment.
Additional Information: Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical examination may be required during the post-offer process. The Ohio State University is an equal opportunity employer, including veterans and individuals with disabilities.
