Florida State University, in collaboration with the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to study separation strategies for recovering critical materials from industrial waste. The project integrates experiments, modeling, and simulations of fluids under magnetic fields.
The role requires a PhD in engineering or physics, experience with CFD/CFD platforms, and strong publication records.
A postdoctoral position is available for highly motivated candidates to join a multi-disciplinary group of chemical engineers, physicists, chemists, and geochemists at the Florida State University (FSU) and the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL). The project will involve experiments, modeling and simulations of critical metals fluids under influence of magnetic fields. The candidate selected is expected to conduct research on the experiments and modeling of a range of separation strategies for recovery of critical materials from industrial waste. The initial appointment will be for one year, with renewal for up to two additional years conditional upon performance and availability of funding.
