Job summary

The Li Lab at MUSC seeks highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to study neuron-glia interactions, focusing on oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs) and their synaptic communication with neurons. We use in vivo imaging, molecular tools, and systems-level approaches in zebrafish to uncover activity-dependent myelination and circuit function.

We are committed to mentorship and career development, with opportunities to pursue funding such as K99/R00 and fellowships.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in neuroscience, biology, or related field with strong background in cellular/molecular neuroscience, imaging, electrophysiology, molecular biology or genetics, or computational analysis.
  • Ability to think creatively and work independently.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated track record with a strong publication record related to lab interests.
  • Prior zebrafish experience is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead conception, design, and execution of neuron-glia research projects in zebrafish.
  • Analyze imaging and molecular data; prepare figures for publications and conferences.
