Job Description and Responsibilities

• Conduct research with Dr. Dana Calacci on leveraging digital tools to empower workers and organizers in measuring work, organizing, and influencing technology use, including AI, in the workplace.
• Develop or collaborate on digital tools to analyze and address work-related challenges.
• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students, including guiding PhD research.
• Collaborate with faculty and researchers in related fields to advance understanding of labor organizing in the digital age.
• Engage with labor organizations, policymakers, and advocacy groups to translate research into policy.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in computer science, information science, sociology, labor studies, political science, or related field (awarded within last five years).
• Experience with qualitative research involving workers and organizers.
• Strong publication record or potential.
• Interest or experience in developing digital tools, data platforms, or guiding engineering talent.
• Excellent communication and mentorship skills.

Terms of Appointment

• Full-time, limited term for one year, renewable up to two years based on performance and funding.
• Competitive salary aligned with NIH postdoctoral stipends, plus health insurance and benefits.
• Four weeks of paid leave annually and university holidays.
