Job summary

The Kowalczyk laboratory at The Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA, is seeking a full-time Post Doctoral Scholar to study the mechanisms of organelle association with desmosomes and adherens junctions.

The successful applicant will use cell and molecular biology to investigate cell adhesion and organelle biology in vitro, with required mammalian cell culture, basic techniques, and high-resolution live-cell fluorescence microscopy.

Job description

POSITION SPECIFICS

The laboratory of Dr. Andrew Kowalczyk in The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Dermatology, is seeking a full-time Post Doctoral Scholar to work on campus in Hershey, PA. The Kowalczyk lab focuses on understanding the mechanisms of organelle association with adhesive cell-cell junctions such as desmosomes and adherens junctions.

The successful applicant will be expected to employ cell and molecular biology techniques to carry out experiments investigating cell adhesion and organelle biology using in vitro approaches. Demonstrated experience in mammalian cell culture, basic cell/molecular biology techniques, and high-resolution live cell fluorescence microscopy are required. Experience in coding for microscopy analysis and extensive experience with organelle and adhesion biology are preferred.
