Job Description:
A Postdoctoral research position at the University of Notre Dame (ND) is available starting May 2025. The position involves conducting research under the supervision of Prof. Nick Laneman and collaborating with faculty at the ND Wireless Institute and SpectrumX, the NSF Spectrum Innovation Center.
The primary project focuses on developing system models for radio frequency spectrum allocation, coexistence techniques, and dynamic spectrum sharing approaches that incorporate technical, economic, and regulatory aspects into a unified framework or “taxonomy.” This taxonomy aims to assist stakeholders in industry and government to evaluate options and develop solutions for future spectrum management.
Desired expertise includes, but is not limited to: radio system modeling, transceiver hardware design, algorithm development and simulation, interference analysis, spectrum auctions and markets, property rights, and institutional design for common pool resources.
The fellowship duration is up to two years, with potential for annual renewal. U.S. citizenship and the ability to manage Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) are strongly preferred.
