A postdoctoral researcher position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Radin Sadre at The Ohio State University, Columbus.
The Sadre lab is interested in the discovery of plant specialized metabolism at metabolic subnetwork level and the development of metabolic engineering and synthetic biology approaches to produce high-value phytochemicals for human health and well-being. The lab combines omics-based analyses with genetics, biochemistry, metabolic engineering, and synthetic biology. The ideal candidate for this position is creative, independent, and willing to use integrative approaches to take on complex scientific questions. The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for designing and conducting hypothesis-driven research, preparing original research manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, presenting data at conferences, and contributing to the success of the team.
Required qualifications:
• PhD degree in Plant Biochemistry, Plant Biotechnology, Analytical Chemistry or a related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in plant natural product research. Candidates with expertise in purification and structural elucidation of small molecules, UPLC/QTof mass spectrometry, protein modelling and bioinformatics are especially encouraged to apply.
• Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
The position is open effective immediately. The lab is based in the new Pelotonia Research Center in Columbus.
The initial appointment is for one year, with all intention of further extension.
Current Ph.D. students who are nearing graduation are also encouraged to apply.
