Job description

We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join a dynamic, interdisciplinary research team. The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative project investigating the evolutionarily conserved functions of microRNAs and their subcellular transport during development. Utilizing microinjection, cellular, molecular, biochemical, proteomics, and fluorescence microscopy techniques, the researcher will assess microRNA regulation and functions in fixed and living embryos and mammalian cells.

Qualifications
  • Education:
  • Ph.D. in Developmental Biology, Cell Biology, RNA Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • A strong background in molecular and cellular biology techniques, including molecular cloning, confocal imaging, protein expression, biochemistry, and cell culture.
  • Research Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in experimental design, data analysis, and data interpretation, alongside a proven ability to bring research projects to completion and publication.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Be willing to mentor working alongside a small team of undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Communication:
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Publication Record:
  • A record of publishing at least two first-author peer-reviewed articles from prior research work.
  • Experience with bioinformatics procedures, specifically programming in R to analyze large datasets such as high-throughput nucleic acid sequencing (e.g., RNA-seq) and proteomics datasets.
Appointment Terms
  • Initial appointment of 1 year, renewable based on performance and funding availability.
  • Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Interested candidates should submit the following documents:
  • Cover Letter: Describing research experience and career goals (limited to 2 pages).
