Postdoctoral research opportunity in Seattle

Postdoctoral Research Associate position at NorthWest Research Associates, Inc., an employee-owned scientific research institute located just east of Seattle in Redmond, Washington.

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility for a detailed analysis of the global surface drifter dataset and mapping joint distributions of eddy and near-inertial variability.
• Collaborate on a NSF-funded project, using data analysis techniques and numerical modeling to understand the role of eddies in shaping energy flux from the mixed layer to near-inertial waves in the deep ocean.
• Work as part of a collaborative team on an international project with opportunities to learn new data analysis techniques developed by project PIs.
• Potentially participate in writing or contributing to future proposals to support transition to an independent scientist.
