The Li Laboratory in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join an NIH-funded research program investigating the molecular mechanisms by which Na⁺/K⁺-ATPase (sodium pump) signaling and sex hormones regulate thrombosis, vascular inflammation, and cardiovascular disease.

The successful candidate will work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary research environment focused on cardiovascular biology, vascular inflammation, and thrombotic disease.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, at-will position.

The successful candidate will complete a three-month probationary period before transitioning to an annual appointment, contingent upon satisfactory performance and continued funding.

  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative research team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience working with laboratory animals, particularly mice.
  • Demonstrated experience with standard molecular and cellular biology techniques, including PCR, quantitative PCR, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence, molecular cloning, co-immunoprecipitation, and related methods.
  • Experience in mammalian cell culture, transient or stable gene transfection, and functional cellular assays.
  • Proficiency with ImageJ/Fiji, GraphPad Prism, Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g., Illustrator and Photoshop), and other scientific data analysis, visualization, and data management software.
