The area of our research focuses on coronary microvascular dysfunction in diabetes and menopause, particularly in cell‑cell communication, mitochondrial function, cell apoptosis/senescence, and calcium handling in the endoplasmic reticulum of endothelial and smooth muscle cells.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct cardiovascular physiological and molecular biological experiments using dissected vessels from mouse and vascular cells freshly isolated from tissue.
  • Analyze research data using various computer software.
  • Generate preliminary data for grant applications.
  • Write drafts of manuscripts.
  • Coordinate with other investigators for lab research.
  • Maintain lab equipment function and manage lab research records, including methodological approaches and animal protocols.
Expected Salary

  • Strong record of productivity in cardiovascular physiology (e.g., assessment of cardiac function using echocardiography and/or catheterization in mice).
  • Experience with isometric tension measurement in mouse small vessels or electrophysiological experiments using endothelial and smooth muscle cells isolated from mouse hearts and lungs.
Preferred
  • Theoretical and working knowledge in advanced cardiovascular physiology.
  • Ability to dissect small arteries (coronary and pulmonary) for isometric tension experiments.
  • Experience evaluating cardiac and vascular function using the Millar system or echocardiography in mice, and isolation of heart and lung vascular endothelial and smooth muscle cells.
  • Proficiency in aseptic techniques for cell culture.
  • Experience with Western blot, immunoprecipitation, PCR, qPCR, and FACS.
  • Ability to contribute to experimental design, analysis, interpretation of results, and troubleshooting.
