Job description

## Postdoctoral Research Associate - Pulmonary & Critical Care MedicineApplyremote type: On Campus/Onsitelocations: Washington University Medical Campustime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Yesterdayjob requisition id: JR95153# **Position Summary**A postdoctoral position is available immediately at the laboratory of Dr. Choudhury in the Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at WashU in St. Louis. The Choudhury lab investigates the cellular, molecular, and metabolic mechanisms involved in the development of fibrotic disorders, including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, using novel mouse models and human precision-cut lung slices to study how metabolic networks may reveal disease- and context-specific targets for selectively interrupting pathological cellular functions and how these metabolic adaptations may be targeted therapeutically. Our research employs cell signaling and metabolism, fibroblast-immune cell crosstalk, metabolomics, mitochondrial biology, molecular and cellular biology, genetically modified mice, lung fibrosis models, single-cell RNA sequencing, and epigenetics. We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate with prior experience in biochemistry and cell and molecular biology; a background in immunology and expertise in flow cytometry and cell sorting and single-cell RNA sequencing are strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to contribute to complex research studies, experiments, and assays in a supportive environment that values teamwork, dedication, and curiosity. This position also offers the opportunity to develop exciting, cutting-edge independent translational research projects at the intersection of metabolism and cell signaling.# **Job Description****Primary Duties & Responsibilities:**Information on being a postdoc at WashU in St. Louis can be found at https://postdoc.wustl.edu/prospective-postdocs-2/.Trains under the supervision of a faculty mentor including (but not limited to): * Works independently but in close consultation with the Principal Investigator.* Designs and performs experiments.* Keeps appropriate experimental records and documentation.* Analyzes, interprets, summarizes, and compiles data.* Operates and maintains relevant animal models.* Participates in publications and presentations as an author or co-author.* Develops proficiency in career development skills, including writing, public speaking, networking, and critical evaluation of scientific literature.* Maintains conformity with ethical standards in research.* Assists in preparation of grant proposals and may also apply for mentored training grant with PI support.* Collegial conduct towards co-trainees, staff members and members of the research group.**Working Conditions:**This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
