Department Summary


We provide a high quality education to our student population through excellence and innovation in teaching and research in order to serve the scientific and engineering needs of the state of Texas and the nation. This will be achieved by a balance of formal course work, practical laboratory training, and research projects that encompass both the basic science and the applied aspects of materials science and engineering.

UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.


Position Overview


This position is to perform research on materials development and for rechargeable batteries and integrated batteries and devices including:
i. Designing and developing materials specifically for rechargeable batteries.
ii. Develop 3d printed batteries and composite structural batteries.
iii. Conducting electrochemical characterization of active materials to assess their suitability and functionality in battery application.
iv. Publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
v. Training students.


Minimum Qualifications


1. Ph.D. in materials science & Engineering or Chemical Engineering
2. Publication record in rechargeable batteries and energy materials
3. Experience in battery material synthesis, characterization, battery performance test.

Preferred Qualifications


Study in Li-S battery, Zn-ion battery, solid-state battery, metal-air battery.
