An established industry player is seeking a dedicated postdoctoral research associate to join a dynamic team focused on Cancer Biology and Stem Cell Biology. This role offers a unique opportunity to explore the intricate mechanisms of tumorigenesis and the tumor microenvironment, utilizing advanced experimental techniques. The position provides a rich environment for both basic and translational research, allowing for significant contributions to the field and opportunities for publication. Ideal candidates will possess a doctoral degree and a passion for innovative research in a collaborative setting.
The Department of Dermatology at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine invites applications for a federally-funded postdoctoral research associate position. This role will focus on studying Cancer Biology and Stem Cell Biology in the laboratory of Dr. Lu Le, Professor and Chair of the Department of Dermatology.
Dr. Le's lab investigates how genetic and microenvironmental factors interplay to regulate tumorigenesis. Our research focuses on identifying the cell of origin and elucidating the role of the tumor microenvironment in cancer development. We explore the cellular and molecular mechanisms of carcinogenesis from a developmental perspective, using Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1), a common tumor predisposition human genetic disorder, as a model. Additionally, our research has uncovered mechanisms related to hair follicle epithelial cells, hair graying, and potential treatments for balding and hair aging.
Our laboratory offers a rich environment for both basic and translational research.
