Job summary

The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Chemical Engineering to develop computational models integrating molecular reaction networks with AI/ML to predict cardiac remodeling and disease outcomes from human-omic data.

You will contribute to publications and conference presentations, maintain collaborative relationships, and participate in regular attendance as a key duty within a dynamic research group led by Dr. Richardson.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education, conferred by the start of employment.
  • Experience in biomedical AI/ML and/or systems biology.

Responsibilities

  • Develop computational models that integrate molecular reaction networks with AI/ML algorithms to predict patient-specific cardiac remodeling and heart disease outcomes across human-omic datasets.
  • Present research findings through journal publications and conference presentations.
  • Maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships and reliable attendance as essential duties.

Summary of Job Duties:

Collaborating closely with Dr. Richardson and students in our group, the Postdoctoral Research Associate - Chemical Engineering will help develop new computational models that integrate molecular reaction networks with AI/ML algorithms in order to predict patient‑specific cardiac remodeling and heart disease outcomes across human‑omic datasets. In addition, the postdoctoral researcher will be expected to present research findings through journal publications and conference presentations. Regular, reliable, and non‑disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education, conferred by the start of employment
  • Experience in biomedical AI/ML and/or systems biology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated excellence in previous research, supported by scientific publications
  • Experience with personalized medicine, clinical datasets, and/or biomarker discovery

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills
