Texas A&M Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Pharmaceutical Sciences team.   • Collaborate with PI to meet grant deadlines.

Job description

The Choudhury lab is an epigenetic research lab who is interested in improving outcomes for patients with metabolic diseases and pregnancy complications. We are looking for hard working researchers at junior and senior levels who have an experience in mouse models and molecular biology lab work (e.g., specifically Organoid, stem cell or any advanced technologies). Bioinformatics skill can be a plus. Researchers should have a history of publishing high impact articles.

Responsibilities
Research
  • Successfully conduct and perform specified experiments and techniques.
  • Maintain electronic data base with experimental protocols and laboratory procedures: PowerPoint presentations.
  • Assist with development and implementation of new experimental procedures, concept, and grants.
  • Manuscript preparations in a timely manner
  • Work with PI to meet grants deadline
Corelated Duties
  • Manage overall operations of research laboratory.
  • Order and maintain inventories of laboratory supplies, instruments, and basic equipment as needed
  • Coordination etc. as needed

Qualifications
Required Education
  • PhD in Biology or related area
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in at least several of these disciplines that includes stem cell, exosome, EVs, organoid, microrna, lncrna, histone, methylation, molecular and cell biology, epigenetics, mouse model, and bioinformatics skills.
  • Research experience in metabolic disorders specifically diabetes and obesity
  • Significant publications record in high impact journals and an independency in running projects
  • Experience in a highly dynamic lab of several postdocs, students, and professional students.
  • Designing novel experiments and concept in several basic, translational, and clinical projects in metabolic diseases and pregnancy disorders
  • Good computer literacy including databases, standard software platforms, sequencing analysis, spread sheets and statistical analysis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
  • Ability to positively and professionally interact with clients and staff
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of office software and instructional programs
  • Ability to orally comprehend and express information and use inductive and deductive reasoning
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
