University of Pennsylvania invites applications for postdoctoral positions in functional transcriptomics, cell signaling, and cancer immunotherapy. The Thomas-Tikhonenko laboratory seeks researchers to advance understanding of aberrant mRNA splicing and its role in cancer vulnerabilities, with translational aims and opportunities for immunotherapy development.
Successful candidates will hold a PhD, MD, DVM, or equivalent, and have strong expertise in RNA biology, cancer genomics, signaling,
Location: University of Pennsylvania - Perelman School of Medicine
Open Date: Oct 27, 2026
Deadline:
The Thomas-Tikhonenko laboratory is recruiting postdoctoral fellows to pursue newly funded basic and translational research projects aimed at elucidating the role of aberrant mRNA splicing in defining cancer vulnerabilities and identifying new targets for therapy. Our research spans hematologic malignancies and solid tumors, combining mechanistic studies with the development of novel immunotherapies. Please visit the lab website for ongoing projects, recent publications, and current members. We are located in the Colket Translational Research Building of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, which shares a contiguous campus with the University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine. This setting provides ample opportunities for interactions with the NCI-designated Abramson Cancer Center, the Institute for Immunology and Immune Health, the Institute for Biomedical Informatics, and other research programs.
We seek ambitious scientists who thrive on challenges, enjoy working in a highly collaborative and dynamic research environment, and are eager to make their marks. Strong candidates will hold PhD, MD, DVM, or equivalent doctoral degrees and have demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following fields: RNA biology, cancer genetics/genomics, cell signaling, immunotherapy, or bioinformatics. Recent graduates with strong research accomplishments in adjacent areas are also encouraged to apply. Eligibility for federal training grants is a plus but not a requirement.
The University of Pennsylvania is an equal opportunity employer. Candidates are considered for employment without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, religion, creed, national origin (including shared ancestry or ethnic characteristics), citizenship status, age, disability, veteran status or any class protected under applicable federal, state, or local law.
