Job description

Required Qualifications:
PhD with specialization in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or related area in hand by June 30, 2018. Previous publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with next-generation sequencing bioinformatics and quantitative methods for analysis of high-throughput biological data. First author publication(s) in peer-reviewed journals.

Brief Description of Duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator in the department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics as part of an NIH-funded project that will require frequent interactions with experimentalist collaborators at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.
Modeling and quantitative analysis of the mutation process in antibody (immunoglobulin) genes.
Development and implementation of methods for the analysis of next-generation sequencing data from antibody genes.
Preparing manuscripts for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations.
Participate and assist in writing grants
Other duties as assigned, which may include attending Scientific Conferences and Meetings.
