Job summary

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to join the Radiology PET Research Center, focusing on quantitative image analysis of neuroimaging data in neurodegeneration. You will work with engineers, physicists, chemists, data scientists, and clinicians across Pitt’s Schools of Medicine, Engineering, and Computing and Information.

You will develop and evaluate image processing and ML techniques, present findings at conferences, and contribute to peer‑reviewed publications

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Evidence of independent research productivity and a strong work ethic.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an interest in working in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate image processing, statistical, and machine learning techniques.
• Present results at scientific conferences and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Assist with applications for external funding and grant preparation.
• Collaborate with faculty across the Schools of Medicine, Engineering, and Computing and Information; benefit from mentoring.
• Participate in career development activities through the Office of Academic Career Development (OACD).
