Job summary
The Schmiedel Laboratory at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology (LJI) seeks a talented postdoctoral researcher to explore genetics, immunology, and functional genomics. The role integrates single-cell multi-omics with functional assays in human and mouse models to translate genetic discoveries into diagnostic markers and targets.
Applicants should have a PhD or MD/PhD and a strong publication record, plus expertise in immunology, genomics, and in vivo mouse models.
Qualifications
- PhD or MD/PhD in Immunology, Genomics, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a closely related field (completed or nearing completion).
- Proven expertise in human immunology and cell biology, including primary cell culture, flow cytometry/FACS, and functional immune assays; genomics and epigenetics (single-cell technologies, NGS library prep); in vivo mouse models for immunological research.
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals relative to career stage.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
