The successful candidate will lead and conduct research on subscale flight test research and novel control system architectures for VTOL and fixed-wing aircraft. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in flight dynamics, controls, hardware integration, or related areas, and will mentor

Qualifications

• PhD in Aerospace Engineering or closely related field.
• Experience with subscale flight testing: both simulation and experiments.
• Developed flight simulation models with custom flight control architectures.
• Experience supervising students and communicating complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize flight control laws for subscale VTOL and fixed-wing vehicles.
• Integrate MATLAB/Simulink with PX4 Autopilot toolbox for control laws.
• Coordinate experimental tests and validate results against simulations.
• Manage research tasks, timelines, plans, and budgets.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students and contribute to publications.
