Job summary

The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, ME invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate in Sickle Cell Disease. You will pioneer the development of mouse models and analyze patient-derived data to understand disease phenotypic heterogeneity, using CRISPR-based tools and single-cell multi-omics.

Ideal candidates have a strong molecular biology background and experience with high-throughput genomics; collaboration across JAX labs and external partners is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, or related field.
• Strong training in molecular biology, cell biology, and next‑gen sequencing.
• Experience with computational biology, genetic screens and single‑cell technologies preferred.
• At least one first-author publication in a peer‑reviewed journal.
• Excellent writing and communication skills; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop mouse models that recapitulate disease phenotypes.
• Work with data from sickle cell disease patients and collaborators.
• Apply cutting‑edge technologies (CRISPR, single‑cell multi‑omics) to research questions.
• Collaborate with internal and external translational scientists and clinicians.
