The Misra laboratory at Stony Brook University seeks a Postdoctoral Associate for NIH-funded research on growth regulation in Drosophila. Responsibilities include molecular biology, genetic crosses, and data analysis. Ideal candidates hold a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and are skilled in scientific writing and molecular techniques.
Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
PhD degree (or foreign equivalent) in Biomedical Sciences or a closely related field. Competent in Molecular Biology techniques (PCR, cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, RT-PCR), Immunoprecipitation, and Western Blotting. Must be proficient in scientific writing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with mammalian cell culture, protein expression (E. coli, yeast, and mammalian cells), and purification. Experience with Drosophila Genetics, dissection, immunostaining, and confocal microscopy.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Misra laboratory at Stony Brook University is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate for our NIH-funded research focusing on growth regulation by Hippo signaling in Drosophila development and cancer. We utilize Drosophila developmental genetics, cell biology, and biochemistry. Extensive training will be provided for techniques.
