Job summary

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) invites applications for a Research Post-Doctoral Fellow in peripheral nerve biology. Under faculty mentorship, you will perform independent scholarly research, plan experiments, and develop new methods, while refining skills in genetics, stem cells, and translational biology.

Qualifications

• PhD or MD/PhD in a relevant field or equivalent training.
• Strong experimental background in mouse genetics, development, and computational analyses (R/Python and/or MATLAB).
• Desirable: human neuron/cell culture, electrophysiology, iPSC derivation/analysis; knowledge of recombinant DNA, genomics and microscopy.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent scholarly research and develop new methods and protocols.
• Participate in project planning, data recording and evaluation.
• Acquire technical, lab management and grant writing skills.
• Participate in seminars, lectures, poster sessions and national meetings.
• Supervise junior lab members and assist other research projects.
