Position Details

The Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences (DFCAS) First-Year Experience (FYE) Unit at the University of Oklahoma (OU) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow. The FYE Unit was launched in 2021 to foster excellence as per the "Lead On, University" Strategic Plan and is retained in the 2025 update. The unit offers four interdisciplinary courses each term for undergraduates, designed to engage faculty, staff, and students.

Postdoctoral fellows will conduct empirical studies on social influences related to self and others, contribute to various research designs, and participate in scientific collaborations. Support for professional development, manuscript writing, data analysis, and presentations will be provided. The primary mentor is Dr. Adrienne R. Carter-Sowell, a distinguished Professor of Psychology.

The position's start date is as soon as possible, no later than August 11, 2025, requiring Ph.D. completion prior to start. Benefits include health coverage, access to OU resources for up to 2 years, with potential renewal based on performance. Remote work options depend on budget and qualifications.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Ph.D. in Social Psychology or related field
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, and collaborative

Recommended:

  • Experience with experimental, interview, focus group, or field methodologies
  • Strong statistical knowledge, including multilevel modeling and big data analysis
  • Ability to develop projects and co-author publications
  • Skills in website, content, and social media management
  • Experience coordinating research projects and supervising team members
