Job summary

Mount Sinai is seeking highly motivated postdocs to lead projects related to targeting age driven myeloid dysfunction in cancer, unraveling the immunomodulatory and metabolic contributions of GLP1 agonist. The Merad and Puleston Laboratories focus on the immune effects of GLP1 receptor agonists in aging and disease and use state-of-the-art in vivo stable isotope tracing technology.

Qualifications

The Merad and Puleston Laboratories is seeking highly motivated postdocs to lead projects related to targeting age driven myeloid dysfunction in cancer: unraveling the immunomodulatory and metabolic contributions of GLP1 agonist

Goals/Outcome of the research project: This project explores the immune effects of GLP1 receptor agonists (semaglutide and tirzepatide) in aging and disease. Our findings show that GLP1 treatment reduces inflammaging and rescues age-related loss of resident alveolar macrophages with the goal of applying these findings to patients. Using state of the art in vivo stable isotope tracing technology, the incoming candidate will also explore how incretins modulate immune cell metabolism.
