The Faith Laboratory is seeking highly motivated postdocs to lead projects aimed at gut microbiome laboratory of Jeremiah Faith in the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking a computational biology postdoctoral fellow to lead new discoveries in gut microbiome strain stability and transmission. Our laboratory's research is focused on the influence of gut microbes on the immune system, especially in the context of inflammatory diseases such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease. We are a group of approximately 15 individuals with expertise in microbiology, systems engineering, bioinformatics, systems biology, and immunology. We combine these skills sets towards cutting-edge research, and seek another creative, motivated individual to join our group.


Responsibilities

Technical Duties:

  • Perform independent research in the area of microbial strain tracking, metagenomics analyses, TCR/BCR analyses, and computational modelling.
  • Critically analyze data quality and results, communicate results to scientists and lay people.
  • Write or assist in writing scientific papers and grants.
  • Collaborate closely with other scientists to conduct research.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. required.
  • Experience working in a research laboratory setting.
  • Programming experience in python and R required.

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the ISMMS and the Sinai Postdoctoral Organizing Committee - UAW.

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $72500 - $80000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need.
