Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher (PhD or equivalent) to join our research program focused on advancing scientific understanding in the areas of sleep medicine and the relationship with cardiovascular disease and outcomes. The position involves contributing to innovative research projects, including analyzing large-scale, multimodal datasets (with various sleep metrics, cardiovascular imaging, and blood biomarker data) with applications of artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning techniques in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to research projects focused on sleep medicine and cardiovascular disease, with opportunities to explore AI and machine learning techniques for data analysis.
  • Collaborate with a team of clinicians, scientists, and data experts to address pressing scientific questions in sleep health and cardiovascular outcomes.
  • Lead and support scientific writing efforts, including drafting manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications and presenting findings at conferences.
  • Engage in cross-disciplinary collaborations within the research program to advance scientific understanding of sleep and cardiovascular health.
  • Assist the lead PI in developing grant applications and pursue independent grant opportunities with the goal of eventually securing a faculty-track position.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Sleep Medicine, Cardiovascular Research, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, or related areas).

Background in data analysis with an interest in learning or applying AI and machine learning techniques.

Strong scientific writing skills and a proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Experience working with biomedical or clinical datasets and a commitment to collaborative research.

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with or interest in AI and machine learning techniques is desirable but not essential.

Experience in time-series data analysis, especially in cardiovascular or sleep health research, is an asset.

Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $72500 - $80000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
