Description

The position is funded for one year with the potential to extend up to five years based on review. Postdoctoral fellows at Mount Sinai are unionized, guaranteed subsidized housing in New York City, and compensated well above other academic centers or industry positions. Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experimental skills and the ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced, diverse, and multidisciplinary research environment. Responsibilities include designing, executing, analyzing, and interpreting experiments with close mentorship from the PI; presenting results at international conferences; writing and disseminating findings through manuscripts; and actively seeking extramural fellowship and funding opportunities. Strong team spirit, a positive attitude, and eagerness to learn are essential attributes.

Qualifications

The candidate should possess:

  • Substantial experience in molecular and cellular biology
  • Advanced knowledge of biosensors, live-cell, or confocal microscopy
  • Good communication skills, with command of spoken and written English
  • Knowledge and strong interest in mechanobiology

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $72,500 - $80,000 annually, in accordance with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency. Actual salaries depend on experience, education, and operational needs. This range does not include bonuses, incentives, or other benefits.
