Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow to advance a research program focused on mechanistic dissection of a neurodevelopmental genetic disorder and preclinical ASO therapeutics development.
The project aims to characterize genetic mechanisms of splicing dysfunction, establish mouse models, and develop RNA-targeted therapies in a collaborative translational setting.
Salary: $74,300.00 Annually
Location : 1 Bungtown Road, Cold Spring Harbor- Main Campus
Job Type: Full Time
Job Number: 02299
Process Level: Scientific Laboratory
Department: Krainer Laboratory
Opening Date: 08/11/2026
The laboratory of Dr. Adrian Krainer at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join an innovative research program and advance a research project focused on mechanistic dissection of a neurodevelopmental genetic disorder and preclinical development of antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) therapeutics.
The successful candidate will lead and contribute to a project investigating a genetic neurodevelopmental disorder that affects an RNA-binding protein involved in mRNA splicing. The project aims to characterize the genetic mechanisms of the disorder and the resulting splicing dysfunction, and to establish appropriate mouse models, with the ultimate goal of developing an RNA-targeted therapy.
This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of RNA biology, genetics, neurology, and ASO therapeutics development in a highly collaborative and translational research environment.
The Krainer laboratory is internationally recognized for pioneering discoveries in RNA biology, alternative splicing, and the preclinical development of RNA-targeted therapeutics for neurodegenerative disorders and cancer. The successful candidate will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and a collaborative scientific community dedicated to exploring biological mechanisms and advancing innovative treatments for human disease.
