The Computational Multiomics Laboratory at the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) is recruiting computational postdoctoral fellows to join our interdisciplinary team . The lab is led by Dr. Rongbin Zheng, who will join the University of Maryland School of Medicine in mid-December 2026 as a faculty member in the Institute for Genome Sciences (IGS) with affiliations to the Institute for Health Computing (IHC), the Program in Oncology, and the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at UMSOM . Dr. Zheng is a K99/R00 Independence to Pathway Awardee and contributed to widely used genomics resources and studies published in Cell , Nature Metabolism , Nucleic Acids Research , and other leading journals. Research in the Zheng Lab focuses on decoding disease complexity through artificial intelligence (AI), multi-omics, and multicellular regulation to advance therapeutic discovery, with particular emphasis on genetic disorders, metabolic diseases, and cancer.
Successful candidates will have opportunities to pursue independent research at the intersection of computational modeling, genetics, functional genomics, metabolism, cell signaling, and single-cell and spatial omics, with applications to understanding biological complexity in human diseases.
We value scientific curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and intellectual independence. Our goal is to foster a supportive research environment where every team member can pursue exciting biological questions, develop innovative computational approaches, and grow toward their long-term career aspirations.
