Job description
Overview

Faculty Mentor: Carman Li, Ph.D.

Department: Cancer Biology

Funding Source: PI Grants

Number of Positions: 2

Lab Website: www.CarmanLiLab.org

Open to U.S. citizens and foreign nationals.

The Carman Li Lab studies hereditary cancer development and their implications for sporadic cancer interception. A special focus is on breast cancer driven by germline mutations in the tumor suppressor gene BRCA1.

The lab is recruiting postdoctoral fellows to investigate the molecular mechanisms and intervention strategies for BRCA1-related breast cancer. The fellows will lead their independent research projects using advanced genetically engineered mouse models, 3D organoid cultures, single-cell omics, patient sample analyses, and other approaches.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and help advance the frontiers of cancer biology. Fellows will have opportunities to present their work broadly and publish their discoveries in peer-reviewed journals. The Li lab also values a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

The fellows will lead their independent research projects focused on BRCA1-related breast cancer, utilizing advanced models and approaches such as genetically engineered mouse models, 3D organoid cultures, single-cell omics, patient sample analyses, and other relevant methods. They are expected to contribute to the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments, collaborate with the lab team, and disseminate findings through presentations and publications.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD degree, experience in cancer biology and/or mouse genetics, a strong record of productivity, and a demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team.

Application Instructions

To apply, please submit:
