Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside invites highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to lead projects on how transposable elements regulate immune responses in aging and inflammatory diseases. The work will combine mouse models, flow cytometry, cellular and molecular immunology, and analysis of human samples.

The project aims to identify cellular and molecular mechanisms by which transposable elements contribute to chronic inflammation and disease.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. required.
  • Experience working in a research laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform independent research in immunology, inflammation, and transposable-element biology.
  • Conduct mouse experiments, tissue processing, and immune-cell isolation.
  • Perform cellular and molecular genomic and immunology assays.
  • Process and analyze mouse and human biological samples.
  • Critically analyze data and communicate results to scientific and lay audiences.
  • Write or assist in writing scientific papers and grants.
  • Collaborate closely with other scientists to conduct research.
