NIH-Funded Research Opportunities in the ChatterjeeLaboratory

The Chatterjee Laboratory at the University of Maryland,Baltimore is seeking two Postdoctoral Fellows to join anNIH-sponsored research program investigating the mechanistic basisof antibiotic resistance in Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and itsrole in bacterial pathogenesis.

These positions offer opportunities to address fundamental andclinically important questions in bacterial pathogenesis andantimicrobial resistance while collaborating with leadinginvestigators in the field. Successful candidates will developindependent research projects commensurate with their experienceand expertise, with the expectation that these projects will leadto peer-reviewed publications.

Research Focus

• Molecular mechanisms underlying antibiotic resistance inMRSA
• The relationship between antibiotic resistance and bacterialpathogenesis
• Novel determinants of host-pathogen interactions
• Mechanisms that contribute to bacterial adaptation andsurvival

Hiring range: $63,480 - $63,900 per year (depending on academicrank and commensurate with education and experience).
