Job summary

The Basis Postdoctoral Fellowship is a collaborative initiative between Basis Research Institute and the Princeton Robot Planning and Learning group. As a fellow, you will lead robotics efforts within the MARA project, actively contributing to foundational AI technologies in NYC and Princeton.

We seek PhD holders with a strong track record in program synthesis, RL, robotics, planning, probabilistic programming, ML, AI reasoning, or cognitive modeling.

Qualifications

• PhD in robotics, computer science, AI, ML, cognitive science, or related field.
• Strong background in program synthesis, reinforcement learning, robotics, automated planning, probabilistic programming, ML, AI reasoning, or cognitive modeling.
• Experience with real robots is preferred but not required.
• Interest in foundational AI research and its applications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative research focused on the RoboMARA project.
• Develop new methods and algorithms for modeling, abstraction, and reasoning in embodied AI systems.
• Disseminate research findings through publications and conferences.
• Engage in knowledge transfer within Basis and Princeton, turning research into actionable insights.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to seminars and collaborative projects.
