Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin in the Cockrell School of Engineering invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering. Based at UT Main Campus, you will conduct world‑leading research in hydraulics, multi‑phase flow dynamics, and managed pressure drilling while collaborating with graduate students and staff.

You will develop proposals, assist in publishing results, and present findings at conferences, contributing to innovative drilling and geothermal

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering completed within three years of start date.
• Strong background in computational science and multi-physics modeling (CFD, multibody dynamics).
• Experience with scientific software development and multiple programming languages (Python, Matlab).
• Strong record of peer-reviewed publications and prior supervision experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct state-of-the-art drilling research in hydraulics, multi-phase flow, and related fields.
• Develop proposals, R&D plans, schedules, and final reports for research projects.
• Supervise undergraduate and graduate students and staff on R&D projects.
