VCU School of Public Health invites applications for a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Fellow to advance a federally funded program focused on community engagement and CBPR. The fellow will engage in mixed-methods research, contribute to grant development, and mentor as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in public health, epidemiology, psychology, social science, behavioral science, or a closely related field by the position start date.
• Experience in community engagement and CBPR, with underserved populations.
• Evidence of scientific writing and ability to lead manuscripts.
• Strong analytical and methodological skills across quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods.
• Excellent organizational, project-management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to diversity and respectful collaboration.

• Lead and contribute to peer-reviewed manuscripts.
• Develop publications using existing and newly collected data.
• Develop research questions, collect data, and conduct quantitative, qualitative, and/or mixed-methods analyses.
• Contribute to federal and foundation grant applications.
• Develop independent fellowship, career-development, or research proposals.
• Conduct targeted and systematic reviews of the scientific literature.
• Support IRB submissions, protocol modifications, regulatory documentation, and research compliance.
• Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of studies addressing substance use treatment interventions.
• Participate in participant recruitment, baseline and follow-up assessments, and study retention activities, as appropriate.
• Contribute to data management, quality assurance, research documentation, and reproducible analytic workflows.
• Provide capacity building and technical assistance to community-university partnerships to support the implementation and evaluation of CBPR projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary investigators within the Department and School of Public Health, across VCU, and with clinical and community partners.
• Participate in departmental and School of Public Health research seminars, professional-development activities, and other scholarly activities.
• Present research findings at local, national, and international scientific meetings.
• Participate in regular research and mentorship meetings with Dr. Zimmerman and other members of the research team.
