Hours per week: 40 hours

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday

The position requires a PhD in Biology, Genomics, Computer Science, or a related field. The postdoctoral researcher will report to both the NCRC in Kannapolis and UNC Charlotte in Charlotte. Preferred experience includes yeast genomics, RNA-sequencing, bioinformatics, or machine learning.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education: Experience in yeast genomics, RNA-sequencing, bioinformatics, or machine learning is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and conduct experiments.
  2. Analyze and manage data.
  3. Prepare manuscripts for publication.
  4. Train and mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
  5. Engage positively with the lab, department, and university communities.
  6. Research on codon usage bias in eukaryotic evolution and regulation using sequencing techniques and machine learning.
  7. Potential projects tailored to the applicant’s background, including machine learning models, tRNA-sequencing, and construction of tRNA deletion strains.

Other Responsibilities: The postdoc will report to both the NCRC in Kannapolis and UNC Charlotte in Charlotte.
