Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to join the Solid State and API Engineering Group at our US headquarters in Ridgefield, CT. The role focuses on chemical engineering fundamentals in CAPS processes, particularly solid formation during distillation and drying, to control kinetics and ensure product quality.

You will conduct independent research under guidance, interact with mentors and collaborators, present your work to leadership, and publish in leading journals.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering with a preference of no more than three (3) years of postdoctoral experience.
• Strong foundation in thermodynamics, heat transfer and mass transfer principles.
• Hands-on wet-lab experimentation experience.
• Experience with solid state characterization techniques (XRD, TGA, DSC, SEM).
• Ability to think strategically and to communicate results effectively.
• Creativity in driving research with a strong publication record.
• Ability to conduct independent projects and collaborate with teams.
• Experience in data analysis and maintaining proper records.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct independent research projects.
• Collaborate with researchers within and outside Boehringer Ingelheim.
• Communicate and defend work in written and oral form.
• Establish an international reputation with publications and conference participation.
• Publish first-author manuscripts and/or patent novel technologies/processes.
