Job summary

Texas A&M AgriLife Research in Temple, Texas, is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to advance crop modeling, remote sensing, and geospatial analysis within a multidisciplinary team. You will design and execute field studies, develop models, and apply AI techniques to improve yield prediction and resource use efficiency.

The role involves publishing in peer-reviewed journals, writing competitive grant proposals, and presenting findings at conferences.

Qualifications

• PhD in Agronomy, Geosciences, Environmental sciences, or closely related discipline.
• Strong background in agricultural remote sensing.
• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

• The selected candidate will be actively involved in all phases of field research projects, including experimental design, implementation, data collection, analysis, modeling, and dissemination of research findings.
• Responsibilities will include managing field experiments, coordinating and conducting ground-truth data collection, and operating, testing, validating, and refining crop models to improve prediction accuracy.
• The candidate will also contribute to the development and application of machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) approaches for crop management, yield prediction, and decision-support systems.
• Additional responsibilities include preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, contributing to the development of competitive grant proposals, presenting research findings at scientific meetings, and performing other related duties as assigned.
