Job summary

The Clurman lab at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle seeks a highly qualified Post-Doctoral Research Fellow. The project investigates molecular pathogenesis and therapeutic strategies targeting Wee1 and CDK4/6 in head and neck squamous cell cancer, with opportunities to collaborate across Fred Hutch groups.

Responsibilities include applying high-throughput functional genomics and drug screening, gene expression analyses, and murine models, with an emphasis on independent project

Qualifications

• PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in cell and molecular biology, cancer biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
• Broad expertise in cell and molecular biology methods and the ability to master new techniques and approaches.
• Experience with mouse models and xenografting preferred.
• Experience in functional genomics and/or drug screening preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Record of productive and rigorous research, including at least one primary publication in an impactful peer-reviewed journal.
• Ability to independently plan, conduct, and analyze research.

Responsibilities

• Study molecular pathogenesis and therapeutic strategies associated with Wee1 and CDK4/6 in head and neck squamous cell cancer (HNSCC).
• Collaborate with other Fred Hutch research groups within the HNSCC team.
• Apply high-throughput functional genomics and drug screening; conduct gene expression analyses and work with tissue culture cells, murine models, and genomics/proteomics.
