Job summary

Children’s National Hospital's Rokita Lab seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow to advance pediatric brain tumor research from diagnosis through end of life. You will lead bioinformatics analyses across genomic, transcriptomic, and epigenomic data, and design scalable workflows in a cloud/HPC setting while collaborating with clinicians and researchers herein and with external partners.

The role includes mentoring, grant and manuscript contributions, and active participation in code reviews and training

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Cancer Genetics, or related field.
• Expertise in Bash and either R or Python.
• Proficiency with cloud-based or HPC environments for bioinformatics workflows.
• Experience with multiple genomic data types (SNVs, CNVs, fusions, RNA, methylation, proteomics, splicing).
• Commitment to open science practices and collaboration.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead bioinformatics analyses on pediatric brain tumor datasets (genomic, transcriptomic, epigenomic).
• Design and implement downstream analytical workflows using GitHub, Docker, and AWS infrastructure.
• Utilize AWS EC2 and HPC environments for large-scale analyses.
• Participate in sprints and code reviews ensuring reproducibility and documentation.
• Collaborate with CNRI researchers and external partners to advance projects.
