Job Description: The Postdoctoral Associate will support research and teaching activities related to digital transformation, machine learning, and data analysis in logistics and supply chain management. Responsibilities include supporting graduate-level teaching for both residential and blended options, mentoring students, advising on thesis and capstone projects, developing sponsored projects with corporate partners, publishing in academic and business journals, and assisting with student management, events, and orientations. The Center for Transportation & Logistics (CTL) conducts research, outreach, and educational activities with various organizations. The MIT SCM program is CTL’s degree-granting program.
Job Requirements: Ph.D. in supply chain management, logistics, transportation, operations management, industrial engineering, operations research, computer science, information systems, business management, or related fields. In-depth research experience in data-driven logistics, supply chain analytics, experimental methods, statistical analysis, machine learning, or AI. Publications or potential for publication in academic journals. Coding proficiency, preferably in Python. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Self-motivated with a strong interest in research, teaching, and academic activities. Willingness to contribute to the SCM program and CTL’s broader mission.
