• Mentor 1-2 undergraduates to learn leadership of undergraduate research.
• Pursue university trainings in pedagogy, mentoring, and related areas for future faculty positions.
• Initial appointment is 6 months to 1 year depending on funding and performance.

Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises Employment Services ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY SUMMARY : This is a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Department of Biological Sciences at the California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, CA. The postdoctoral associate will work under the mentorship of Principal Investigator Dr. Erin Questad.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

• Candidates should be interested in research, teaching and training undergraduates, and working with Hispanic and low--income students.
• They will work collaboratively with Dr. Questad on research projects of mutual interest and will supervise undergraduate and Master's students.
• The research associate will also assist with the maintenance of ongoing research experiments and infrastructure.
• Candidates will be able to join the research group of Dr. Erin Questad in Biological Sciences, focusing on ecosystem restoration, plant community ecology, and physiological ecology.
• The candidate will serve as a research mentor for 1-2 undergraduates within the research group to learn how to lead and manage undergraduate research.
• Candidates will be encouraged to pursue University trainings in pedagogy, mentoring, and other areas that will prepare them for a future faculty position.
• Initial appointment is for 6 months to 1 year depending on funding, further appointments will be based on funding availability and satisfactory performanc e.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Ph.D. in Biology, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or related field.
• Background in plant ecology and ecosystem restoration preferred; field research and statistical analysis skills are required.
