Scripps Research is seeking two Postdoctoral Associates in immunology and developmental cell biology at our La Jolla, CA campus. You will contribute to collaborative projects integrating biology, chemistry and computational approaches to advance translational science.

The positions offer NIH/CA-exempt salary guidelines and potential for ongoing growth. Responsibilities include characterizing dendritic cell heterogeneity, transcriptional regulation of dendritic cell lineages, and developing mouse

Qualifications

• PhD in immunology, developmental cell biology, molecular biology or related field; a pending doctoral degree may be considered with PI approval.

Responsibilities

• Postdoctoral Associates conduct independent research under a faculty supervisor.
• Investigate dendritic cell biology topics, including antiviral/antitumor immunity and TH2 responses.
• Develop and use lineage-specific mouse models and perform high-dimensional analyses.

Position Title

Postdoctoral Associate

Position Summary

The Liu. T lab at Scripps Research is recruiting for two funded postdoctoral positions in immunology and developmental cell biology. Ongoing projects in the lab span topics in:

• Functional characterization of dendritic cell heterogeneity in anti-viral/anti-tumor immunity
• Characterization of type 2 conventional dendritic cell function in allergy and TH2 immunity
• Transcriptional regulation of dendritic cell lineage specification
• Development of lineage-specific depletion genetically modified mouse models

Postdoctoral Associates are appointed positions for the purpose of developing scholarly competence, working under the supervision of a Scripps Research Faculty member. These appointments are normally not renewed beyond a total of five years. Postdoctoral Associates cannot apply for external funding either as a Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator without prior approval from a Departmental Chair. Postdoctoral Associates do not have consulting privileges.

Requirements

• PhD in immunology, developmental cell biology, molecular biology or related field. A pending doctoral degree may be considered with approval of the Principal Investigator.
• The ideal candidate should have a passion for science and be highly motivated.
• Strong oral and written communication, data documentation, and presentation skills.
• Excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with in vivo mouse models and high dimensional flow cytometry is a plus.

Compensation

Postdoctoral Associates will be hired following the National Institute of Health and California’s exempt salary guidelines, which provide for a starting range of $70,304- $75,353. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
